streamingTechnology that allows for the ongoing transmission of audio and video content. A streaming server divides large media files or live broadcast data into small packets that it feeds continuously to client media players, which in turn reassemble the packets for playback. As the streaming process leaves behind no usable media files on the client’s hard drive, streaming makes it more difficult—though it’s still possible—to copy and distribute copyrighted media content.
